Horsemanship is working with you and your horse from the ground up.

Horsemanship is learning how to gain respect and confidence in your horse in return the horse will respect and have confidence in you. If you have no respect on the ground, you won’t get it while you’re on his back! Like anything special it takes time.

The principals of horsemanship is being able to ask and give to your horse, becoming in time, or as one.

Its great to see our horses competing in many discipline successfully. Over the last 16 years its been a great to see so many of our youngstock in the wining circle. While its not the only measure of a good horse its rewarding to see judges confirming the breeding and selection of our stallions and mares to produce quality horses.

Located in beautiful Ashburton with excellent facilities

Our all 62 x 42 weather sand arena great for day or floodlit for evening activities to give you all the time you need . We offer 2 round pens, stables, flat grazing, excellent access and parking so when you come for an clinic or lesson its so easy. Stay in our Americian barn its cosy and home away from home.

We have farrier on call , Veterinary on call and regular visits from specialist in many areas including saddle fitting and massage.
Facilities are available for hire .

Both of my daughters have been taught by Annabelle Read -Caithness Stud for a number of years. Annabelle provides a safe and happy environment.The horses are well trained and it’s great being able to build a relationship with the same one.
