At same time games are set to build team moral and been able to work together to get end result while applying what they have learnt during and  over the camp.

Caithness Home A5(copy)Information on Camps

We run camps up to 12 children, which I like to keep very personal and informative because they  gain personal growth and thrive through working as a team 24/7.
That is developed through riding,  games, and activities which some are non-horse related.
They sleep as a group in the American Barn  and occasional have ponies staying in with them!
They start the day with a cooked breakfast, a good  lunch and a substantial dinner with dessert.

In the evening the play games that involve teamwork  and watch a movie as they go to bed. There is no T.V or own technology like cell phones or ipads  because we want them to communicate with each other, not through technology.
Some feedback we have  had because of the technology been restricted, is they have gone home more confidence within  themselves, stronger, happier and content, they feel like they have achieved personal goals.

On arrival they are given a pony where they are 100% responsible for, during the whole camp  period.
Like feeding, mucking out, riding, wellbeing and general care.

Camps are broken up into Advance / training or beginner's Camps depending on their ability.

Each camp as a specific aim  that each child works towards, like preparing for a show/turnout, leading, general riding, dressage or jumping. We have outside instructors that come in at times, like Debbie Biles who worked on balance,  body and core training of the rider. Jennifer Howard who worked on Telereign. Alisha Hutton who is a grand prix show jumper, and worked on the technique of jumping.

Every camp has horsemanship, and it is only taught through camps as it can’t be taught quickly.
