We are pleased to announce that Maestro has been named the top South Island warmblood sire for the 2001-2002 season.

We also wish everyone a productive breeding season and a trouble-free foaling.

Caithness Stud is having a Warmblood open day in late February 2003 (exact date to be announced). There will be plenty of information, help, and advice about all things warmblood, and a demonstration of horses performaing in all disciplines.

As well as Maestro's year-end achievements, several progeny were also recognised:
Lyngael Northern Rose won top youngstock Warmblood 2001/2002
Caithness Cinderella was second
Caithness Silver Song was third
Caithness Cocktail was fifth.

Congratulations to all who showed progeny by our stallions with success.May, 2002A filly by Maestro, Lyngael Northern Rose has been sold to the USA. Lyngael Northern Rose is a multi Champion and Supreme Filly.

Maestro progeny did well at the recent Canterbury AllBreeds Foal Show. Interestingly, Maestro progeny have now won the large foal Championship for two years running.

Congratulations to Kelly Mitchell on Caithness Moonraker, for qualifying on the 100km ride at the national endurance championships 2002.

Caithness Royal Charm qualified on all trail Rides then took out Top Trail Rider in Canterbury 2002.April 2002Our latest news is the redesign of our website, which we hope you will find more user friendly and informative. We are featuring several horses who are for sale, and we have also been inundated with orders for the coming season's foals. Also featured are our broodmares, who are the backbone of our business.

Our Swedish warmblood stallion, Maestro, is also featured prominently. You will find his pedigree second-to-none and full of notable competition horses.

As we move into winter it is time to reflect on our fantastic show season. Maestro's progeny have been extremely successful, taking out several championships between them, under a variety of judges.

Congratulations to all of the owners and breeders who showed progeny by our stallions -- we appreciate your support and are pleased you have been rewarded for your efforts!
