DORCHESTER TB (FR)
1980-2003 thoroughbred stallion 16.1hh Registered thoroughbred; Registered NZ Light Hack and Hunter Breeding Improvement Society
Sire: ARCTIC TERN
It is with sadness that we report the death of Dorchester on July 22, 2003. Dorchester was a fabulous foundation sire for us, and has left an indelible mark on the stud through his many daughters who are breeding on for us. Dorchester's health deteriorated rapidly from Monday night and by Tuesday morning the vet made the final decision. Dorchester has been buried on the stud, near the stallion paddocks. A memorial plaque will be erected in his memory.
Multi Champion Show Hack
Champion Hack 1996 Breeders Show.
He is a well known for siring classic show hacks and for producing magnificent looking progeny.
Exceptional nature, refined and elegant conformation and movement. He has many championships to his name, and is the sire of numerous champions, including hack of the year.
Dorchester was Reserve Champion Hack at Canterbury Breeders Show in 1995 and in 1996 took champion hack at the same show.
All of his foals to date have proven to have bold, friendly natures and are good to handle and train. Dorchester produces magnificent progeny with rich colours such as liver chestnut, black, chestnut, dark bay, and carrying his markings such as blazes, strips and socks.
All young stock are nicely in proportion, particularly through the shoulder, neck and head area. He also leaves very strong white markings on all the foals along with athletic ability and very kind natures.
Youngstock have looks, movement and temperament to make the champions of tomorrow.
Dorchester also crossed very well with all breeds of mare.
